TriStar is proud to have contributed to the production of what has been called, “The Toy of the Century,” by installing our versatile Ultracomp® bearings on the conveyor systems in the manufacturing plants of a premier brand of building blocks. These vibrant plastic blocks, which are beloved by children and adults alike, have reigned supreme for decades, and continue to thrive in an age of violent video games. Meeting production promises
In the months leading to the gift-giving season, toy production revs into high gear and manufacturers demand the most from their equipment. The production of the “Toy of the Century” is no exception; a failure on the production line can mean costly repairs, missed shipments, and the disappointment of children everywhere. With resilient Ultracomp in place on the grease ball bearings, the conveyor belts run more efficiently, require fewer repairs, and have a longer lifespan.
Plastic building blocks begin as granulated plastic. Then they roll along to the molding machine, where high pressure and high temperatures form the granules into sharp forms. After molding, the newly-minted blocks are dropped onto the conveyor system and into designated boxes where they cool and roll along to the sorting and packaging area. The conveyor system is critical to coding the blocks by shape, color and size, and ultimately, to providing all of the components necessary for a child to build the creation of their dreams. Ultracomp bearings excel in this production environment because they resist friction and vibration, and work well against the line’s stainless components. And because they are self-lubricating, there is no greasy residue leaking onto the formed parts; which provides a more sanitary and cleaner environment for toy manufacturing. Are you wondering if Ultracomp might be a good fit for your production line? Our experts can walk you through the key advantages of these bearings, and discuss our CJ Bearings, TriSteel™ bearings, and even custom components. We invite you to visit our blog to join the conversation and share your experience with your colleagues. After all, we’ve created the TriStar Advantage with you in mind!
