Non-lubricated service and high-compressive strength improve performance When a leading manufacturer of light and heavy-duty paper baling equipment needed to replace their failing bronze bushings, we knew CJ self-lubricating bearings had the strength and durability to surpass and outperform. Boasting a high load of 40,000 psi, plus exceptional wear and load tolerance, non-lubricated CJ bearings gave our client improved equipment uptime and performance rates.
Bronze bearings succumb to sludge Our client explained that as their baling volumes grew, so did the failure rate of their bronze bushings. Their challenge was that the grease generated from the oil-impregnated bronze would combine with the paper dust and other production debris to form a thick sludge. This sludge would then clog and corrode the bearing; necessitating a complete shutdown of the production line while the bearings were changed. And with each shutdown, production and profits were negatively impacted. Our client was so pleased with the production gains of self-lubricating composite over lubricated bronze, they are now expanding the use of CJ and our Ultracomp bearings to other components of their recycling equipment. CJ, FCJ and Super CJ bearings are all part of the TriStar bearing inventory; each possessing unique load, speed, shape, and hardware attributes.
