A major manufacturer of commercial rotisserie ovens partnered with TriStar to improve the wear life and compatibility of their oven bearings.
The customer manufactures both horizontal and vertical shafted rotisserie racks, making the load considerations a unique challenge. The customer also wanted the bearings to run against stainless shafting, handle continuous cooking temperatures of up to 400°F, and be compatible with a variety of cleaning solutions used by their end customers.
Rulon® 641, a specially formulated FDA compliant material, was the material of choice for this application. White in color, Rulon® 641 is non-abrasive and can run against soft mating shaft materials, including stainless steel, and has an operating temperature of -400°F to +550°F with a unique improvement in wear properties as the temperature rises. Rulon® 641 is inert and can be cleaned with any commercial grades of sterilizing media.
