Featured Material

Tri-Star Plastics is pleased to introduce you to Ultra*comp, a uniquely designed family of composite materials. It was developed by the engineers at Tri-Star and is being manufactured in our Shrewsbury, Massachusetts facility.

Ultra*comp composites are designed to handle the most difficult plane bearing applications where high loads, vibration and dirty environments prevail. It is composed of synthetic fibers, high strength epoxy resins, and lubricants to produce a self-lubricating, long lasting bearing product. Typical applications include difficult-to-get-to areas, or where customers want to completely eliminate external lubrication. Ultra*comp is capable of handling static compressive loads of 54,000 lb. (at ultimate), high impact, and has high resilience under loads, so it's a perfect candidate for impact and vibratory applications in off the road construction, agriculture, mining, railroad and material handling equipment.

Ultra*comp is available in tube or sheet with graphite or PTFE lubricants, and is readily machinable into finished parts. So, call the Technical Department at Tri-Star for pricing, fabrication and design assistance, or link to our website for additional information.
