Application Highlight

Tri-Steel™ Bearings are a Gas!

Tri-Steel™ Metal Backed Bearings are one of the most versatile plane bearings on the market today. They are designed to take very high loads, high speeds, and high temperatures in tough environmental conditions.

Tri-Steel™ Metal Backed Bearings are used in applications such as:

  • Motorcycle
  • Automotive and Truck
  • Agricultural Equipment
  • Construction Equipment
  • Lift systems
  • Forestry Equipment

Tri-Steel™ Metal Backed Bearings can also be used in simpler applications where cost and efficiency are the key factors. One of Tri Star’s customers manufactures carburetors for Harley Davidson, Buell, and the off-road motorcycle aftermarket. The Tri-Steel™ bearings are used on the butterfly plate to insure smooth and consistent motion. Due to the very low friction liner on these valve plate bearings, elimination of stick slip is critical to the flow rates of air through the carburetor. Tri-Steel™ bearings also offer extremely long wear life and are compatible with the fuel environment, temperatures, and outdoor contaminants.

Since Tri-Steel™ bearings are easy to install and cost effective, Harley Davidson was able to replace the previous bearing to reduce cost while improving performance.
