Tri-Star Plastics Corp. has teamed with Krispy Kreme’s Equipment Division to replace lubricated bearings with Rulon 641. The Rulon 641 is an FDA cleared product made specifically for food processing equipment where the environment could be as diverse as fast freeze systems or hot cooking oils.
In the case of Krispy Kreme, Rulon 641 offers them a material compatible with the stainless steel shafts in their conveyor system with an ability to withstand temperatures up to 550ºF and requiring no lubrication. The Rulon 641 bearings must also be able to withstand the normal clean-down requirements of food processing equipment without concern about moisture, absorbency, or reactions to any of the cleaning solutions.
