TriStar Plastics is supplying Rulon® LR to facilities that specialize in rebuilding landing gear for small military and private aircraft.
A recent rebuild project was on several C7 Caribou aircraft, used by the Australian Air Force as light cargo and personnel delivery craft. These planes were originally built by DeHaviland Aircraft in Canada and have been in service for over 50 years. Today, they are also a preferred plane for wilderness trips, since they can be outfitted with pontoons for water landings.
TriStar is supplying Rulon® LR and our CE211R adhesive kit for the main landing gear wear bands in the oleo struts. The Rulon® LR provides long life, withstands very high side loads common to LG struts and is unaffected by the aircraft’s exposure to many different environments. The CE211R is a simple to use, self-leveling 2 part epoxy specially made by TriStar for bonding Rulon® and other plastic materials.
