Flange bearings are generally used to provide support to a shaft that runs perpendicular to a bearing’s mounting surface. Flange bearings are especially critical in supporting shafts that are subjected to high speeds, heavy loads or any other type of pressure that causes vibration and movement. They reduce friction between two surfaces, and are used for rotary or linear movements.
